NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Florida Atlantic University women's basketball team (2-5) couldn't overcome a tough shooting night, falling on the road at Tulane (5-1). The Owls will continue on the road to face Siena on Saturday in Albany, New York.
HOW IT WAS DECIDED
- Amber Gaston scored the first points of the game, but Tulane quickly scored five points to take the lead. Glenisha Harkless connected on a corner three to tie things up. The period would feature three lead changes and one tie, but a 12-0 run by the Green Wave put them ahead going into the second quarter
- Both teams started the second quarter struggling to score. Through five minutes of play, neither team had scored a field goal. Tulane quickly sparked a scoring flurry to end the period, scoring 15 points in the final 2:48 before halftime
- FAU was able to hold the Green Wave to 37 second half points, but ultimately were defeated, 88-45
GAME NOTES
- Abby Voss was the lone FAU player in double digits with 11 points. She also had eight rebounds and two steals
- Danneal Ford had 4 assists in her first game back since Nov. 10, crossing the 200-mark in career assists with 203. The redshirt senior also had five rebounds
- Harkless had six points, connecting on 3-of-4 from the free throw line. She also had three steals and two assists
- In her first career start, Gaston had five points and two rebounds
- Addison Ryan scored her first career points on a 3-pointer in the fourth quarter. She finished the game with four points
- FAU struggled from the field, shooting 26.3 percent on the night. That mark is the lowest of the season. On the other side, Tulane shot 54.8 percent in the game
