Florida Atlantic University's football team (5-6, 3-4 Conference USA) began preparation for the final regular-season game of 2018 on Tuesday. The Owls will play host to Charlotte on Saturday at 6 p.m. and will recognize the squad's seniors, who were instrumental in the 2017 Conference Championship, prior to the game.

The Charlotte (4-7, 3-4 C-USA) contest will be produced by STADIUM with Chris Hassel (play-by-play), AJ Hawk (analyst) and Kristen Balboni (sideline) providing the game's commentary.
 The Series
The Florida Atlantic versus Charlotte series is one of the newer matchups. The two played in a driving rain storm in 2015 that saw the Owls toss two interceptions and fumble eight times (losing three), while Charlotte threw six INT's and fumbled three times, losing one. FAU won 17-7. FAU fell on an overturned touchdown, 28-23, the following year (2016), and last season, the Owls won 31-12.FAU holds the all-time series advantage at 2-1.

For the third consecutive year, FAU's Frank Forte hosts the weekly show "Inside the Owls Burrow." The show is broadcasted on Fox Sports Florida, will first air at 4 p.m. Thursday. This week's show features Head Coach Lane Kiffin's recap the North Texas contest and a look ahead to this week's final regular season contest versus Charlotte. The show also features a segment with senior linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair, who will open up about his season-ending injury and what lies ahead in his life and career. Reporter Brittany Flowers will catch up with former player and current firefighter Jeff Blanchard in "Where are They Now." A fashion segment – yes football has fashion – will round out this week's show.
