Women's Basketball Claims Exhibition Win Against Lynn

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University women's basketball team defeated Lynn University on Thursday night, 74-61, in an exhibition game played at FAU Arena. The game was highlighted by 18 points from Jamaria Williams and a double-double from Juliette Gauthier.

UP NEXT
FAU will open the season on Wednesday, November 7 against Hampton at 11 a.m. in FAU Arena. The Owls will be hosting over 800 students from AD Henderson School for the game.

HOW IT WAS DECIDED
- The Owls jumped out to a 23-0 lead to start the game. The impressive run was started by two three-pointers from Juliette Gauthier and Jamaria Williams. FAU closed out the first period outscoring Lynn, 26-4.
- Lynn ended the second quarter on a run that extended into the third quarter, swinging the score 14 points in the Fighting Knights favor.
- Tyana Robinson hit a pair of threes midway through the fourth quarter to boost a 8-0 run by the Owls that would put Lynn away for good.
GAME NOTES
- Senior Jamaria Williams had a career game against Lynn, recording 18 points, six rebounds, six steals and four assists, unofficially besting career highs in every category.
- Freshman Juliette Gauthier had an impressive unofficial debut. She finished the game with a double-double, scoring 13 points and pulling down 13 rebounds.
- Redshirt-junior Myka Johnson Matthews also made her unofficial debut as an Owl after sitting out last season due to NCAA transfer rules. She finished the game with 12 points and six assists.
- Senior Ra'Kyra Gabriel flirted with a double-double, notching 12 points and seven rebounds.
- Redshirt-sophomore Tyana Robinson took fire from three, connecting on four for 12 points.
