Florida Atlantic University's football team (3-5, 1-3 Conference USA) has begun preparation for Shula Bowl XVII, the annual game pitting the FAU Owls and the nearby FIU Panthers, which is scheduled for this Saturday on the road in Miami. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.

The Owls own the series at 11-4 and captured last season's contest 52-24; however the Panthers sit atop the C-USA Eastern Division standings with a 4-0 conference mark and an overall record of 6-2. The 11 wins the Owls have over the Panthers is the most against any opponent all-time.

The show is broadcasted on Fox Sports Sun, will first air at 4 p.m. Thursday, and be shown a second time at 9 a.m. Saturday on Fox Sports Florida. This week's show features Head Coach Lane Kiffin's recap of the Louisiana Tech game as well as a look into Saturday's Shula Bowl XVII versus FIU. Graduate student and center Junior Diaz will be the featured player this week's "Pads Off," plus fans will have an opportunity to find out what former Owl quarterback Jaquez Johnson is currently doing in "Where Are They Now." As an added bonus, Forte will discover why the Owls imitate riding a dirt bike following a big play.
