Abbi Reid Named Preseason All-Conference

BOCA RATON, Fla. - Florida Atlantic University junior Abbi Reid was named to the Conference USA Preseason All-Conference volleyball team, the league announced Wednesday.

Reid was named to the All-Conference USA First Team in 2016 and led the team in hitting percentage (.343) and blocks per set (0.84) despite playing out of position most of the season. The native of Denver, Colorado, also averaged 2.45 kills per set and posted 14 double-digit kill matches during the year.

As a team, the Owls were picked to finish seventh in a poll of the league's head coaches. FAU (15-14 overall) finished fifth in conference play last season with a 10-4 record. The Owls advanced to the C-USA Tournament for the fourth season in a row.

The FAU volleyball team hosts Miami-Dade College in an exhibition on Saturday, Aug. 19, before officially opening the 2017 season on the road at the Stetson Invitational on Friday, Aug. 25.
