BOCA RATON, Fla. (April 5, 2017) Florida Atlantic University's softball team defeated the UCF Knights 4-0. FAU improves to 25-12 on the season with the win.

"We had a really good game today and were good in all aspects of the game. We had some critical hits, played pretty good defense and Amanda pitched a great game for us. When you bring all of those aspects together it makes for a great outcome."

Madisyn Palmer went 2-for-3 and scored two runs
Emily Lochten was 2-for-4 and had two RBI's
Tatum Buckley and Samantha Lageyre each added a hit
Amanda Wilson gave up just five hits and added six strikeouts.

Key Plays
In the first inning of the game, the Owls were the first on the board with two runs scored by Palmer and Lochten. Palmer got on base with a single to third, stole second and advanced to third on a error from the catcher. She then scored on a bunt from Lochten, who eventually scored on a Buckley groundout. In the fourth inning, FAU added two more runs, when Lochten drove in Palmer and Lageyre with a double to left center. The Owls kept the Knights off of the scoreboard in the final inning of the game to secure the 4-0 victory.
