BOCA RATON, Fla. - Florida Atlantic University's softball team gets another win at the FAU Kick Off Classic on Saturday, by defeating Bethune-Cookman 15-0.
The two teams will be back in action on Sunday in the in the Owls' first tournament of the 2017 season, the Kick-off Classic, featuring: FAU, UNF, Bethune-Cookman, Boston University, Michigan State, NC State, and Troy.

Head Coach Joan Joyce"Mia (Olson) had a big game tonight and pitched very well," said Softball Head Coach Joan Joyce. "I think everyone hit the ball so much better tonight, which is something we haven't been seeing thus far."
Game Highlights
- Emily Lochten and Mia Olson both had a homerun
- Olson tailed five RBI's. Whitt and Lochten had two RBI each
- Alex Miller scored three of FAU's 15 runs
- Olson had five strike outs and only allowed three Bethune hits
- Eight of the 10 Owls with plate appearances recorded a hit
Key Plays
In the third inning with one out and bases loaded, Olson got out of jam without allowing a score. In the third inning, Lochten belted her two-run homer to take an 8-0 lead. In the fourth inning, Olson helped her cause with a two run homer. Lageyre had a triple down the right field line and then scored on a wild pitch.
