Athletics Signs an ESGR Statement of Support

BOCA RATON, Fla. - Florida Atlantic University’s Department of Athletics recently signed a statement of support of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR). ESGR is a federal program that works to increase employer support of employee participation in the military.
“Our student-athletes and athletic teams receive tremendous support from Florida Atlantic University and the surrounding communities,” said Chun, FAU vice president and director of athletics. “This is a great opportunity for FAU Athletics to reciprocate and show its support for the United States Military. We appreciate the sacrifices they make and the service they provide.”
In recognition of their support, FAU will be presented with the “Above and Beyond Award” during Friday’s Football game against Marshall, designated as the team’s Military Appreciation Game. The award honors those employers who surpass the requirements of the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act.
Tickets for the game are available by phone at 1-866-FAU-OWLS or online at fausports.com. Special pricing for the military starts as low as $5 and advanced parking for military is available for $5. The game will be broadcasted on CBS Sports Network at 6 p.m. and will feature the Owls (5-3, 4-0 C-USA) versus fellow C-USA member Marshall (6-2, 3-1).
