BOCA RATON, Fla. - (September 17, 2016) - The Florida Atlantic University volleyball team was nipped in five sets (11-25, 26-24, 25-19, 22-25, 15-13) by UTRGV in its final match of the Owls Classic on Saturday.

FAU blistered out to a 10-2 lead in the first set on its way to a convincing 25-11 win. The 13th and final tie of the second set came at 24 when Ragni Steen Knudsen had back-to-back kills to tie the match at one set each. Several extended serving runs by the Vaqueros helped them win the third set and take a 2-1 lead. After a UTRGV block trimmed the Owls' lead to one late in the fourth set, three different FAU players recorded kills to force a decisive fifth set. Set number five was nip and tuck the entire way, but with the score tied at 11, UTRGV won four of the next points to win the match.
