On the heels of hearing Jordan Zimmerman, the founder and architect of Zimmerman Advertising, speak Thursday night, the Florida Atlantic University football team took to the field on Friday morning for the fourth and final 2016 two-a-day.
Coach's Quote
Head Coach Charlie Partridge on what to expect at the Saturday scrimmage
- "We are going to create a lot of different scenarios and we are going to try and create as many game-like red zone, backed up, short yardage [as we can]. I will just do that by setting where the drive starts and if something doesn't get manufactured then I will create it. It is situational...everything. If you can think of it you would probably see it." On team chemistry
- "I'm very excited where we are right now. Guys are looking out for each other on and off the field. Once the accountability for each other is coming from the locker room and quieting the coaches, in terms of those kind of things, that aren't related to coaching on the field, that means you have a team that has a chance."
On how the two-a-days have worked for the players
- "Good. We have only had four two-a-days because of the way the rules work with the NCAA. The four have been good. I like the way that we had it scheduled and mapped out. Honestly, the tough turnaround is from the evening practice to in the mornings [which we do] to avoid afternoon thunderstorms. That is a challenge for them [the players], but they have embraced it and gotten better for it."
Friday Highlights
- Freshman quarterback Trent Wessel found running back and fellow freshman James Charles to open his drive
- Charles followed up with a nice run
- The defensive line proved challenging for each of the quarterbacks batting down two and recording two sacks
- Freshman quarterback Steven Frank had a completion to redshirt sophomore receiver Bobby Mitchell
- Redshirt freshman Daniel Parr found "Pico" [Tavaris] Harrison on back-to-back plays for a first down and later hit junior receiver Henry Bussey for two first downs plus receptions, including one to end practice
- Redshirt sophomore quarterback Jason Driskel had a full day of work but made use of his time finding redshirt junior Marcus Clark for a 20 plus yard gain
- Senior back Jay Warren had a 25-yard run and true freshman "Motor" Devin Singletary added a nice run

The Owls will practice in the stadium on Saturday morning. Head Football Coach Charlie Partridge will be made available at the conclusion of practice, which is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m., approximately the last 20 minutes of practice will be open to media. Please RSVP with Katrina McCormack so that a clearance time will be provided.
