2016 Men's Soccer Schedule Announced

BOCA RATON, Fla. - 
The Florida Atlantic University men's soccer schedule, which features eight home matches, has been announced by the department of athletics.
The Owls open the season with three exhibition matches, all played on the road. FAU will open the regular-season with a trip to Nashville to face Lipscomb and Belmont on Friday and Sunday, Aug. 26 and 28, respectfully.
The home schedule is slated to open on Friday, Sept. 2 at 7:30 p.m. when the Owls play host to Niagara. They will return to action on Sunday, Sept. 4 for a 12:30 p.m. home match versus Wisconsin.
Conference USA play will begin at home for the Owls on Saturday, Sept. 17 versus South Carolina at 7 p.m.
Two road matches will be squeezed in on Tuesday, Sept. 20 versus FGCU and Marshall on Sunday, Sept. 25 before returning home to play host to in-state foe Stetson on Tuesday, Sept 27 at 5 p.m. FAU will host C-USA member UAB at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1 and will then play two matches on the road on Tuesday, Oct. 4. The Owls will travel to Jacksonville and then to conference member Old Dominion on Friday, Oct. 7.
FAU will then play host to C-USA member New Mexico on Saturday, Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. Four matches will close out the 2016 regular season, two at home and two on the road. The Owls will travel to Miami to face FIU at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 21 and will then host C-USA foe Kentucky at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 26. FAU will then travel to Charlotte for a 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29 league contest versus the 49ers. Owl Senior Night is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 2 versus UCF at 7 p.m.
The Conference USA Championship, which is one of the most competitive leagues in the nation, is scheduled for Nov. 9-13 at a site to be announced. The winner will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
