BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Florida Atlantic University softball team, ranked No. 22 in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) poll and No. 24 in the USA Softball poll, will finish its regular season with a three-game series at UTSA this weekend. The Owls have already clinched the Conference USA regular-season title and will be the No. 1 seed at the upcoming C-USA tournament.
FAU, riding a 15-game win streak, is 44-7 overall and 19-2 in C-USA play. The Roadrunners are 20-29 on the season and 11-10 in C-USA play and won their series against UAB after dropping the opener.
Last Week: FAU won all three games from Western Kentucky last weekend, clinching the conference title in the process. Kylee Hanson was named C-USA Pitcher of the Week, while Melissa Martinez was named Player of the Week by both C-USA and the NFCA.
Nationally Speaking: Kylee Hanson is No. 1 in shutouts (13), No. 2 in ERA (0.66) and No. 1 in hits per game (3.31). The pitching staff is ranked No. 2 in ERA (1.12). Amanda Wilson is ranked No. 34 nationally (1.72) as well.
History: All four previous meetings took place last season. FAU won three of the four meetings last season, including a 6-4 come-from-behind win in the C-USA Tournament.
