BOCA RATON, Fla. - The no. 23 Florida Atlantic University softball team clinched its weekend series over Southern Miss with a 3-2 win on Sunday. FAU improved to 28-6 overall and 5-1 in Conference USA play with the win. Southern Miss dropped to 16-18 and 3-6.

Kylee Hanson threw a complete game to pick up her 13th win of the season.
Christina Martinez singled and scored a run.
Delaney Rickey had two hits.
Carnesha Thompson, Melissa Martinez and Tatum Buckley all had RBI.

Key Plays
Thompson singled to right field in the first, driving in Christina Martinez. Three hits in a row by Melissa Martinez, Lochten and Buckley scored two runs and pushed the Owls' lead to 3-1 in the fourth. The Golden Eagles scored a run in the fifth to pull within one and had runners on second and third in the sixth, but Hanson was able to keep Southern Miss off the scoreboard.
