ORLANDO, Fla. - The Florida Atlantic University softball team showed off its offense in a 6-1 win over Purdue and leaned on its pitching ace in a 2-0, eight inning win over UCF on Tuesday.

Game 1 (vs. Purdue) Notables
Amanda Wilson tossed her 12th complete game of the season, scattering six hits, for her seventh win of the season.
Delaney Rickey went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored.
Carnesha Thompson had two hits and scored twice.
Christina Martinez singled, walked and scored.

Key Plays
A Purdue error allowed Christina Martinez to score in the first. Rickey drove in Samantha Lageyre to put the Owls back up 2-1 in the top of the second. Thompson scored on a wild pitch to put FAU up 3-1 in the top of the third. The Owls' big inning came in the fifth, when three hits and a Boilermaker error accounted for the final three runs.

Game 2 (vs. UCF) Notables
Kylee Hanson threw a complete game, eight-inning shutout for her ninth win of the year. Hanson gave up just two hits in the contest.
Delaney Rickey went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. It was Rickey's team best 12th multi-hit game this season.
Christina Martinez had the other two Owl hits in the game and scored a run.
It was FAU's first win over the Knights since the 2007 season.

Key Plays
Both teams were scoreless through seven innings, but the international tiebreaker came into play in the eighth. Madisyn Palmer began on second base, and a Rickey triple and a Christina Martinez double put the Owls up 2-0. The Knights loaded the bases with no outs in the bottom of the inning, but two foulouts and a falling catch by Emily Lochten ended the game.

On the Purdue game: "It took us a while to calm down and find our rhythm in the field, but once we did we were in good shape."

On the UCF game: "We knew hits were going to be hard to come by, for both teams. We were fortunate enough to get them when we needed them and were able to keep UCF from getting them when they needed them."
