BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Florida Atlantic University softball team lost the finale of the Parents' Weekend Tournament 2-1 to LIU Brooklyn on Sunday. The Owls dropped to 21-5 this season.
Notables
• Amanda Wilson threw a complete game four-hitter in the circle, but took the loss. Her record is now 6-2 on the year.
• Christina Martinez, Carnesha Thompson and Tatum Buckley recorded hits for the Owls. Thompson scored FAU's only run.
Key Plays
The Blackbirds used a single, double and fielder's choice to take a 2-0 lead in the top of the fourth inning. Thompson led off the bottom of the seventh with a base hit before Emily Lochten walked. Back-to-back grounders scored Thompson and moved Lochten to third, but a popup ended the game.
