Baseball Ready to Battle in Fall World Series

IRVING, Texas - The Florida Atlantic University baseball team will hold their annual Fall World Series, beginning on Sunday and continuing until a winner is decided this upcoming Thursday.
The intrasquad competition halves the team onto squads headed up by assistant coaches Rick Marlin and Greg Mamula. The winner will be determined by the cumulative final score after three games and 24 total innings. Sunday will be a full nine-inning affair, Tuesday will run for eight innings and the series will culminate after seven more innings on Thursday.
"The World Series is a great way to end the fall, I love watching the guys compete and get after it," said Head Coach John McCormack. "It is also the last time we have to evaluate the players in the fall and is a good setting for that."
Probable starting pitchers are also tentatively set for each day. On Sunday, Marlin's Maulers will have Nick Swan on the hill first, while Mamula's Marauders will counter with Marc Stewart. Tuesday's matchup will pit Alex House for the Maulers against Jake Miednik for the Marauders. Finally on Thursday, Sean Labsan will be the Maulers' starter, battling Mark Nowatnick of the Marauders.
