Men's Soccer Ties Against Jacksonville

BOCA RATON, Fla. â€" The Florida Atlantic University men's soccer team had their home opener against Jacksonville on Thursday night. The teams fought it out but neither could pull away from the game with a win after the 1-1 tie.
The match was delayed for more than two hours shortly after the start due to lightning in the area. FAU (0-1-1) started the game strong offensively and put the first ball in the back of the net. Ramon Whittaker was able to beat the JU goalkeeper to score in the 18th minute of the game.
The Dolphins (0-1-1) were able to score an equalizer in the 51st minute when Martin Agredo converted a penalty kick.
The two teams fought the rest of the match, but neither team was able to score another goal.
