Cross Country Continues Season at Gator Invitational

The Florida Atlantic University men's and women's cross country teams will travel to Gainesville this Saturday, Sept. 19 to compete in the Mountain Dew Invitational. The men will start off the meet, competing in an 8K, and the women will finish the day competing in a 5K.
Last week: The men's team finished third of six teams in the UCF Cross Country Invitational. Michael Vidal was FAU's top finisher in the 8k, coming in fourth place, with Christian Small following in 16th place. Small's time was a personal record. The women's team finished fifth in the 5K, with Jasmine Van Tine being FAU's top finisher, coming in 19th place.
History: In 2014, the men and women both competed at the Mountain Dew Invitational. The women's team took eighth place out of 15 Division I teams. This was the first time in FAU history where the top five women's runners all finished in under 19 minutes. The men's team took ninth place out of 12 teams with senior Josh Peterson being FAU's top finisher in the 8k, coming in 45th.

Next meet: The Owls will compete again in the FSU Invitational on Friday, October 2 at 7:30 a.m. in Tallahassee, Fla.
