Men's Soccer to Open Home Schedule

BOCA RATON, Fla. -- The Florida Atlantic University men's soccer team will host its first home matches of the season this weekend.
The Owls will be looking to kickstart their offense, which was held to just seven shots in their season opener, a 5-0 loss to UCF. Phillip Hitpass was active in goal for FAU, making 10 saves against the Knights. Jacksonville will be the opposition on Thursday, Sept. 3. The Dolphins (1-0) defeated Georgia State 2-1 in their season opener on Aug. 28. JU and the Owls met on the pitch last season, with the Dolphins winning 2-0 in Jacksonville.
FAU will end the weekend by facing Fairfield on Sunday. The Stags are 0-0-2 so far this season, earning ties with both UMBC and Delaware.
Thursday's match starts at 6 p.m. There will be free pizza for the first 100 FAU students at Thursday's match and the first 100 fans will receive a free hacky sack.
