BOCA RATON, Fla. â€" The Florida Atlantic University football team continued its fall camp with a well-rounded practice on Monday.
Quarterback Jaquez Johnson showed prowess both through the air and on the ground, making several big plays on the day. A screen pass to Greg Howell led to big yardage to put the offense into the red zone early before Johnson connected with Jenson Stoshak, who made a diving catch.
In the red zone drills, Johnson lofted a ball into the outstretched hands of tight end Nate Terry for a touchdown. Johnson and fellow quarterback Daniel Parr each picked up big rushing gains on option plays.
Defensively, newcomer Shelton Lewis intercepted a Parr pass to stifle another offensive drive.
