BOCA RATON, Fla. - Florida Atlantic University baseball player Brendon Sanger was named a Third Team All-American by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA).
` Sanger started all 61 games for the Owls and finished the season leading Conference USA in batting average (.370), walks (53) and on-base percentage (.492). He was second in the league in runs scored (57) and hits (85), third in triples (4) and total bases (134) and seventh in RBI (48). Sanger became the all-time leader in triples at FAU with 10 triples in his career and reached base safely in 64 of FAU's last 68 games.
Sanger was named Conference USA Player of the Year for his efforts. He was recently selected in the fourth round of the Major League Baseball Draft by the Los Angeles Angels.
