Martinez Earns Second American Weekly Honorable Mention

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic baseball redshirt sophomore John Martinez has been named as an American Conference weekly honorable mention, the league announced on Monday. This is his second weekly honorable mention of the season.
Martinez went 7-for-16 (.438) at the plate across four games last week. He homered twice, doubled twice, and scored five runs. Martinez led the Owls with 15 total bases and a .938 slugging percentage.
Through 38 games this season, Martinez leads the Owls in RBI (29), doubles (10), multi-hit games (18), and multi-RBI games (10). He's third on the team in batting average (.327).
Next up for the Owls is a home matchup with Miami on Wednesday. First pitch at the FAU Baseball Stadium is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. on ESPN+.
