Owls to Host #18/19 UCF, FIU

BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Florida Atlantic University softball team will host a pair of in-state rivals this week when UCF and FIU come to Boca Raton.

The Owls (24-7-1, 5-1 C-USA) swept Middle Tennessee last weekend and as a result received votes in this week's NFCA poll. UCF and FIU will face each other in Miami on Wednesday night before each team plays FAU.

UCF (29-5) is ranked #18 in the NFCA poll and #19 in the USA Softball poll. The Knights and Owls met last season in Orlando with UCF winning 2-0. Thursday's game against UCF will begin at 4 p.m.

FIU will come to Boca Raton for the second season in a row. FAU won last season's series opener 1-0 before the Panthers (20-14, 3-6) won the final two games. Saturday's doubleheader starts at 6 p.m. with Sunday's single game slated for 1 p.m. Live video and live stats of all the games will be available at fausports.com.
