FAU Men's Soccer Hosts Florida Gulf Coast

Florida Atlantic men's soccer will host to in-state opponent Florida Gulf Coast (4-2-2) on Tuesday, Oct. 13 at 7:00 p.m.
Previous match: The Florida Atlantic University men's soccer team fell 2-1 to No. 15 University of South Carolina (7-3-1, C-USA 4-0) in an exciting match on Friday night. South Carolina came into the game with a strong offensive attack, putting one in the back of the net 98 seconds in, which set the tone for the match. The owls were only able to get one shot on goal in the first half coming from the foot of Ramon Whittake. Carolina added another goal late in the first half that gave them the lead 2-0. FAU finally answered with a goal in the 78th minute of the game from Ramon Whittaker. Whittaker scored the goal off of a deflected cross from Oliver Powers, and Thomas Gallitz.
History: FAU leads the all-time series 4-3 against the Eagles. The last meeting between the two teams was in 2014, the Owls fell 1-0 to FGCU. The Eagles scored in the 54th minute off a penalty kick, and FAU was unable to respond late in the second half to force overtime.
In 2013 when the Owls won 3-2 in double overtime. Then-senior Ryan Price was FAU's leading scorer tallying three goals over 102 minutes of play, including the game winning goal. This win also marked Head Coach Kos Donev's 200th career win at FAU.
