The Florida Atlantic men's soccer team will host Conference-USA opponent No.12 ranked Old Dominion (5-1-1, C-USA 1-0-1) this week on Saturday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m.
Previous match: The Florida Atlantic University men's soccer team traveled to Lexington, Ky. in hopes of picking up its first Conference USA win of the season, but fell 3-0 at Kentucky on Sunday, Sept. 27, 2015. The Owls and Wildcats played a defensive minded affair in the first half that featured just four total shots. Oliver Powers and Austin Bartel each took a shot in the first half, but neither found the back of the net as the game was tied 0-0 at intermission. Kentucky doubled FAU's shot count in the second period and was able to find the back of the net three times, with two goals coming from freshman Xahne Reid. Junior goalkeeper Josh Nolan recorded three saves on the night.
History: The Owls have faced ODU only twice in history with an overall record of 0-2, both matches occurred within the last two seasons. FAU fell to ODU in 2014, 2-1 with a late surge from the Owls scoring their only goal in the 56th minute. In 2013, the men recorded their first home loss of the season, 2-1.
