BOCA RATON, Fla. - A goal during the final minute of overtime was the difference in the Florida Atlantic University women's soccer team 2-1 loss to Cal State Bakersfield on Friday night.

Hildur Hauksdottir put the Owls (4-4-1) ahead in the 12th minute, putting a cross from Taylor Townsend into the back of the net for a 1-0 lead. The Roadrunners tied the match in the 43rd minute when Vendela Schonberg flicked the ball underneath a diving Sydney Drinkwater to tie the match.

Despite outshooting CSUB 13-2 in the second half, the Owls couldn't break the tie. FAU had several looks at a potential game winner, but couldn't convert. The match went to overtime and in the first extra session, the two teams combined for just three shots. The match appeared headed toward a tie, when Alex Bachman was able to launch a rebound into an open net, giving the Roadrunners the win.

Drinkwater had two saves in the win, while Haukdottir's goal was her second of the season. The Owls will continue their four match homestand on Sunday, when they host Wofford at 1 p.m. Live stats and video will be available at fausports.com.
