FAU Men's Soccer Falls to UNF in Season Opener

The Florida Atlantic University men's soccer team fell to University of North Florida 5-2 in its season opener Friday night.
UNF scored first at the 18-minute mark, but FAU answered with a goal by senior midfielder Ramon Whittaker, assisted by Deniz Bozkurt in the 21st minute. The Owls' second goal of the night came in the last minute of the second half by a penalty kick from senior forward Ryan Price.
FAU's offense compiled 12 shots from six different players, including newcomers Kevin Byrne, ELijah McDonald and returner Daniel Montoya. Sophomore goalkeeper Theo Jamilloux had five saves on the night.
Florida Atlantic will be back in action on Sunday, Aug. 31 at 3 p.m. when they face Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, Fla.
