Florida Atlantic University swimmer Agnes Bucz and football's Lucky Whitehead have been named FAU Players of the Week.
During the Georgia Tech Invitational last weekend, Bucz set two school records and had nine top-10 finishes. Her best swim of the meet came on Friday night in the 200 freestyle where she secured second place out of 30 swimmers with a personal best and school record time of 1:46.54. On Saturday, Bucz tied for fourth in the 100 free with a lifetime best and FAU record time of 49.53. On the weekend, Bucz set three lifetime bests including a career-high time of 4:47.89 in the 500 free to earn sixth place in the event. The women's team finished seventh overall out of 17 teams.
In Saturday's game against Middle Tennessee, Whitehead broke off the longest run in FAU history on the first play from the line of scrimmage; an 80-yarder to give the Owls an early 7-0 lead. That rush also marked the fastest score by the Owls to open a game in the program's history. Whitehead had 125 total all-purpose yards, 86 of which were rushing and 39 on six receptions.
