Florida Atlantic University's athletic department hosted the Thanks for Answering the Challenge Luncheon on Thursday, Nov. 13 in the Delray Acura Club. A challenge was issued to FAU Deans in the summer of 2014. Each Dean was asked to help sell tickets to the football game against Tulsa to their respective department's faculty and staff.
The winning department, Arts and Letters who sold 200 seats, was honored on field at the Tulsa game and the luncheon served as a thank you to everyone who participated in the inaugural Deans' Challenge.
"The Deans' Challenge was a fantastic way to come together as a College - away from our offices and classrooms. The faculty and staff and their families got the chance to relax and enjoy one another's company at our lively tailgate party," said Heather Coltman, Dean and Professor of the Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters. "We all had a blast cheering for the whole team, but especially the players who are Arts and Letters majors!"
The Charles E. Schmidt College of Science was a close second with 173 seats sold and the College of Education was third with 131.
Luncheon attendees were joined by FAU President John W. Kelly, University Provost Gary Perry, Vice President and Director of Athletics Pat Chun and Head Football Coach Charlie Partridge, as well as Owlsley.
