FAU Men's Cross Country to Compete in FSU Invitational

The Florida Atlantic University men's cross country team will travel to Tallahassee to compete in the FSU Cross Country Invitational on Friday, Oct. 10. The Owls will participate in the 8k, which begins at 6:45 p.m.
Teams competing: Thirty teams will take part in the meet including Division I competitors Auburn, Florida Gulf Coast, USF, Stetson, Tennessee Tech, Vanderbilt, and more.
Previous meet: At the 26th Annual Mountain Dew Invitational, senior Josh Peterson was FAU's top finisher in the 8k, coming in 45th with a time of 26:47.80. Senior Adam Simon finished close behind in 59th place with a final time of 27:29.38. FAU took ninth place overall out of 12 teams with 252 points and an average time of 28:07.82.
History: The Owls took part in the FSU Invitational in both 2007 and 2008. The men finished sixth overall in 2007 led by Kyle Butler who finished 11th in 27:20.57. In 2008, the men finished fifth with Taylor Reeves coming in second place in the 8k with a final time of 25:43.07. Reeves still holds the record for the second fastest time in FAU history in this event.

Next meet: The men and women will both compete in the Westminster Academy Collegiate Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 25 at 5 p.m. in Lauderdale Lakes, Fla.
