The Florida Atlantic University women's cross country team will compete in the Westminster Academy Collegiate Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 25 at 5 p.m. in Lauderdale Lakes, Fla.
Teams competing: Teams from around Florida will be participating including University of Miami, Nova Southeastern, Lynn, Palm Beach Atlantic, and Northwood.
Previous meets: The women's cross country team took home a second place finish in the 5k at the Disney Cross Country Classic on Oct. 11. The Owls were the first Division I team to complete the event, with junior Chloe Sell coming in fourth place out of 250 runners with a final time of 18:11.37. Based on her performance, Sell won Conference USA Female Cross Country Athlete of the Week for a second time this season.
History: At last year's event, the women competed in the 3500 meter run. Brittany Garesio led the team with an 11th place finish (14:09.41). Following Garesio was Kia Heller-Spencer finishing in 14:47.32 for 17th place. Clare Brinkman finished in the top-20 with a final time of 14:55.35. Rounding out the women's top-five was Kimberly Jones in 20th (14:57.07).

Next meet: The men and women will both take part in the Conference USA Championships being held on Saturday, Nov. 1 in Denton, Texas.
