Los Angeles, Ca. - The Florida Atlantic University women's soccer team battled the Women of Troy Thursday night, but fell to USC 2-0.
Coming off of an impressive 10-0 victory on Sunday, the Owls (2-5-1) couldn't get the offense going against the Trojans (5-2-1). FAU was held to just five shots, all coming in the second half.
USC struck in the 16th minute on a goal by Jamie Fink from 30 yards out. Just 15 minutes later, the Trojans' Jordan Marada scored on a loose ball to put USC up 2-0 in the first half.
The Owls held the Trojans to six shots in the second half. Senior goalkeeper Courtney Zwetsch allowed two goals, but made seven saves on the night.
FAU returns home to host Memphis on Sunday, Sept. 22. Kickoff is scheduled for noon with a men's game to follow.
