DALLAS, Texas -- Florida Atlantic University women's soccer players Claire Emslie and Courtney Zwetsch were named to the Conference USA All-Academic Second Team, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Emslie, a sophomore from Penicuik, Midlothian, Scotland, led the Owls in scoring on the season with six goals. In the classroom, she holds a 3.88 Grade Point Average while pursuing her degree in Criminal Justice. She has scored 16 goals in her two seasons as an Owl and is on pace to set the school record for career goals.
Zwetsch, a goalkeeper from Tampa, Fla., graduated in May with her degree in Exercise Science and is currently pursuing a second bachelor's degree in psychology. She has earned a 3.78 GPA in her four years at FAU and has been named to the student-athlete honor roll every semester. After earning her tenth career shutout on Senior Day, Zwetsch plans to go to Physical Therapy School in 2014.
