BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Florida Atlantic University women's soccer team faces the top two teams in its division this weekend, hosting FIU on Oct. 25 before traveling to face Charlotte on Oct. 27.
Friday's kickoff is set for 7 p.m. against FIU, the top team in the East Division of the Conference USA standings. The Panthers (6-9-0, 4-3-0 C-USA) have won three of their last four matches and hold a one-point advantage over Charlotte in the standings.
Charlotte (8-5-2, 3-2-2 C-USA) has lost just one of its last five matches, as the 49ers were shutout at North Texas on Oct. 13. Charlotte is 6-1-1 at home and has not lost at Transamerica Field since Sept. 13 against James Madison. Kickoff between FAU and Charlotte is slated for 1 p.m.
The Owls (3-9-4, 1-3-3 C-USA) sit just three points out of a tie for fifth, the qualifying position for the Conference USA Championship tournament. FAU owns a tiebreaker over fourth-place Marshall after beating the Herd 2-1 last week in Huntington, W.Va.
FAU's final regular-season contest will feature a home match against UAB on Oct. 31. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the FAU Soccer Stadium.
