Little Rock, AR - Freshman midfielder Claire Emslie scored her 10th goal of the season, but it was not enough as the Florida Atlantic University women's soccer team suffered a 3-1 loss at the University of Arkansas-Little Rock on Thursday.
The Owls fall to 5-10 on the season and 3-5 in Sun Belt Conference action. The team will now travel to face Arkansas State University on Saturday, October 20, at 2 p.m.
Emslie's 10 goals rank as the seventh-most scored in a season in program history. She successfully converted a penalty kick in the 30th minute of the match. The goal came after the Trojans had taken a 3-0 lead, all three goals coming in a six-minute span.
Ariel Galletti scored two goals for the Trojans. The first tally came in the 22nd minute and the second gave the hosts a 3-0 advantage with a goal in the 28th minute. Paige Mason rounded out the scoring with a goal in the 27th minute.
