The Florida Atlantic men's swimming team came through with two wins on the road Tuesday, squeaking by the host school and routing another visiting squad.
The men won 106-98.5 over the home team, Nova Southeastern, and won dominantly over Indiana University of Pennyslvania, 151-54. The team fell, however, to Western Kentucky, 110-88.
The men had four individual first-place finishes on the day, including two from Eric Williams.
Williams won both the 50-yard freestyle (21.38) and the 100-yard freestyle (46.29). Mikolaj Czarnecki topped the field in the 1000-yard freestyle (9:34.00) and was runner-up in the 100-yard butterfly (50.82). Csaba Pek won the 400-yard individual medley (4:01.92) and was also third in the 100-yard backstroke (58.57), just behind teammate Alan Forbes, who came in second with a time of 58.44.
Williams and Czarnecki also combined with John Walsh and Anthony Fermin to take first in the 400-yard freestyle relay, topping Nova by almost two full seconds to pick up the win (3:06.72).
Another solid individual performance on the day was turned in by Jonathan Van Zee, who was second in the 200-yard freestyle (1:44.55) and third in the 500-yard freestyle (4:43.26).
The swim team's road trip continues this week with two more meets on the weekend: Friday at Tallahassee against Florida State, and on Saturday at Gainesville against Florida.
