Track Sends Three to NCAA Regionals

BOCA RATON, FL - The Florida Atlantic University women's track and field team will send three athletes this week to the NCAA East Preliminaries in Bloomington, Indiana, which will take place at the Robert C. Haugh Track and Field Complex. The meet will be held on May 26-28 and will feature 48 competitors in each event from the East Region.
Last year the Owls sent two athletes to the preliminaries, Patricia Gumbs and Ashani Roberts each participated in the regional meet. Both athletes set school records qualifying for the preliminaries. Gumbs qualified for the 800 meters with a time of 2:07.94 and Roberts qualified in the triple jump with a leap of 41 feet, 2 and a half inches.
This year FAU will send three athletes to the University of Indiana to compete for the top 12 spots of each event to move on to the NCAA Championship in Des Moines, Iowa. Senior, Friederike Feil will be competing in the 3,000 meter steeple chase, Danielle Aromashodu will be running in the 400 meter hurdles and Ashani Roberts will compete in the triple jump.
