Men's Soccer Improves in Second Game

BOCA RATON, FL -The Florida Atlantic men's soccer team had two exhibition games on Saturday in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Using their offseason games to gain experience and depth, the team tied their first game and won their second.
In the first game the Owls started a little slow getting down to Barry University 2-0 in the first half. It wasn't until a goal by forward and Mid-America Conference second team all-conference player, Darnell King scored the first goal, that the Owls picked up their pace of play in the second half. Following King's goal, Stan Castaldo scored the equalizer to end the game at 2-2.
FAU carried on their momentum from the end of the first game to their second game beating St. Thomas University 2-0. The freshman class carried the Owls in the second game over the Bobcats scoring both the goals. Midfielder, Martin Nesic scored the first goal, while defender Lukas Simons put the Owls up 2-0.
The men's soccer team will continue their spring exhibition games next weekend, when they go back to Fort Lauderdale, FL to play Nova Southeastern and St. Thomas on March 26.
