BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University's softball team closed out Saturday night with a 3-0 loss to Pittsburgh University.
Quincy Wilson was 3-for-3 on the day, with a triple to lead the Owls. Rose Gressley took the loss and fell to 1-6 on the season.
Pitt scored in one run in each of its odd frames to take a 3-0 lead except a scoreless 7th.
FAU will play 11 a.m. Sunday versus Kent State. Games begin at 9 a.m. at the FAU Softball Stadium. All games are a part of a six team tournament which the Owls have billed as "Strike out for Cancer" and are collecting funds as well as selling t-shirts in an effort to raise money for St. Jude's Children's Hospital. The donation will be made in the name of Keilly Pike, a young lady that the FAU softball team mentored until her battle with brain cancer took life at the age of 17, last November.
