BOCA RATON, FL - Four defensive errors were too much for the Florida Atlantic softball team in its 6-1 loss to Long Island on Sunday.
Long Island (2-8) got on the board in the second inning when two Owl errors allowed two runs to score. FAU responded in the bottom of the inning, when Hailey Broyles singled in Heather Barnes to cut the deficit in half.
The Blackbirds went back up ahead by two in the third inning on an RBI double. They added another run in the fourth and two more in the sixth for the final margin of victory.
The Owls host the "Strike Out Cancer" tournament next weekend. Live stats of all tournament games will be available at www.fausports.com.
