FAU's Mee Named to NCBWA All-American Team

BOCA RATON, FL - The individual accolades continue to pile up for Florida Atlantic University's Andy Mee, as the first-year Owl earned second-team NCBWA All-American honors this week.
Mee, who was slotted as a utility player, becomes the 13th baseball player in FAU history to be awarded national All-American honors. The most recent was Mike McKenna back in 2008.
On the mound, the Palm Beach Gardens native went 1-2 with a 2.96 ERA and a SBC-leading 11 saves. At the plate, Mee led the Owls with a .378 batting average to go along with eight home runs and 55 RBI.
The right fielder had several breakout games, including hitting for the cycle back on March 23 against Cornell University and going 5-for-5 with the game-winning home run and the save in a series-clinching victory against the University of South Alabama on May 9, which secured first place in the conference.
The Owls wrapped up their season earlier this month at the NCAA Regional in Gainesville. After eliminating Bethune-Cookman University and Oregon State University in back-to-back games, the Owls fell to the University of Florida in the championship game.
The regional was the ninth in FAU history and the first under second-year head coach John McCormack.
