Upcoming Event: Men's Golf versus Tarheel Intercollegiate on April 11, 2026

The Florida Atlantic University men's golf team will be conducting tryouts in August and September for the student-athletes interested in competing for the team during the upcoming 2010-11 season.
The tryouts will take place at Ocean Breeze Golf Course in Boca Raton over a two-week stretch. The dates are August 27-29 and September 3-6, with make-up rain dates on September 10-12. How is the team selected?
1. Players who represented FAU in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament are on the team.
2. There are a few spots given to incoming student-athletes, based on resumes.
3. Try outs.
Incoming and returning players willing to try out must:
A. Schedule morning classes on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and morning and afternoon classes on Tuesday and Thursday to meet the team's practice schedule.
B. Students must visit this NCAA website http://eligibilitycenter.org/ECWR2/NCAA_EMS/NCAA.html and fill out the proper information. Student-athletes need to submit the following documents to the NCAA:
• up-to-date/highest ACT/SAT scores;
• final high school transcript with proof of graduation date on the transcript;
• Complete the form entitled: Request Final Amateurism Certification......this will result in a 10 digit NCAA Eligibility Center number which you will e-mail to Coach Sands (asands6@fau.edu)
C. Send FAU Z# to Coach Sands by email (asands6@fau.edu)
D. Send updated resume to Coach Sands by email (asands6@fau.edu)
E. Complete the following contact information for self and parents/guardians and email to Coach Sands

3. Phone numbers for self and parents/guardians
4. Returners need only to provide changes in #1 - #3.
F. Everyone (incoming and returners) must supply the following hospitalization forms which can be found here. At this site you will find the list of forms that need to be filled out and sign. They will be located under the freshman and transfers but EVERYONE including returners must complete and return all of these forms to Coach Sands. The forms must be complete and signed by a physician (MD or DO). Forms signed by chiropractors will not be accepted. All forms must be mailed and will not be accepted electronically. These forms include:
1. Primary Athletic Medical History Form
2. Supplemental History Form
3. Medical Consent Form
4. Assumption of Risk Form
5. Parent/Student Insurance Information Form. Must include a copy of your insurance card (front and back); prescription card and dental card if you have them.
6. Prescription Form
7. Send a Copy of Immunizations (must also send them to the Student Health Services)
8. Sickle Cell Test
9. Miscellaneous Forms
• Physical Exam Form
• Medical Insurance Information
• Medical Release
Anyone not able to produce all the documentation for our tryouts in August will have an opportunity to try out in January.
