BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University's football finished its second Wednesday of Spring Drills and continues to concentrate on team work.
The Owls began with individual work and then installed their various packages. They also worked one-on-one with linemen facing each other and the defensive backs working against the wide receivers. Tavious Polo gained high praise for an interception during one-on-one drills. The squad then moved into 7-on-7 and then spent 25 minutes of the two hour practice on team. David Kooi and DeAndre Richardson connected for a long score. During the third down scrimmage period, defensive end Jamere Johnson grabbed a pressured Jeff Van Camp pass for a defensive score.
The Owls' practice schedule is Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 3:30 p.m. with Saturday's reserved as a scrimmage day starting April 10 continuing April 17 and the spring game is scheduled for the 24th.
The 2010 Spring Game Saturday, April 24 on the Tom Oxley Athletic fields, 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton campus will also feature the annual yard sale of athletic apparel. Following the scrimmage, Owl fans, players and coaches will head to the Marleen and Harold Forkas Alumni Center for the first "Pride and Spirit" event hosted by FAU's Student Alumni Association. A pre-game tailgate will be hosted by student government.
All practices are free and open to the public.
