BOCA RATON, FL - Members of the Florida Atlantic University baseball team certainly know how to have fun and spend the down time during a rain delay.
A video showcasing the team's comedic antics during a recent rain delay has earned praise on ESPN, ESPN2, NBC Nightly News, WGN, Fox News, AOL Sports, CNN, HLN, SI.com, Yahoosports.com and Baseball America magazine.
The video, produced by FAUOwlAccess.com, showcases FAU players performing an air band pit routine, demonstrating a "Shake Weight" commercial ad others.
The routines were depicted during the two-hour rain delay before the Owls' game with Western Kentucky University on April 16 at the FAU Baseball Stadium.
Since the national media picked up the story on Tuesday, FAUOwlAccess.com has received over 80,000 unique visitors to its site.
ESPN2's "SportsNation" show featured the video on Tuesday, April 20, with co-hosts Michelle Beadle and Colin Coward liking the performances. Coward stated: "That's possibly the best rain delay performance in the history of the sport."
Earlier today, FAU pitcher Lou Morey, featured prominently in several segments of the video, was interviewed on ESPN's "First Take" by co-host Jesse Palmer. Other national media showcasing the video have included CNN, CNN Headline News, Yahoosports.com, SI.com and Baseball America.
On the field, the Owls (23-14, 12-6) are enjoying a five-game winning streak, featuring a three-game sweep of previously 19th-ranked WKU.
FAU will try to go for its season-high sixth consecutive victory when they begin a three-game road series at the University of Louisiana-Monroe, starting on Friday night. First pitch is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. eastern at Warhawk Stadium.
