BOCA RATON, FL - The Florida Atlantic baseball team tied a season-high with three home runs in a 7-4 victory over Lynn on Tuesday night at the FAU Baseball Stadium.

The game marked the first time the two Boca Raton rivals have played since February 9, 1995. Head Coach John McCormack is also a Lynn graduate, having played two seasons for the Fighting Knights baseball team.

The Fighting Knights (11-28-1) burst out of the gates and scored all four of their runs in the first two innings. The big inning was the second, when Lynn scored three runs capped off by a two-run home run from Jackson Harris to put Lynn on top 4-0.

Dan Scheffler got the FAU offense rolling with his ninth home run of the season and first of the game in the bottom of the first. The bomb was a two-run shot which at the time put FAU ahead 2-1.

Trailing 4-3 in the fourth, Nick DelGuidice joined the long ball party and hit his fifth bomb of the season, a solo home run that pulled FAU even at 4-4.

Raymond Church extended his hitting streak to nine games in the fourth when he connected on an RBI double into the gap in left center. The extra-base hit scored Nathan Pittman and gave FAU their first lead of the night at 5-4.

Scheffler continued his hot hitting in the fifth, with his second home run of the game and 10th of the season, a two-run shot high off the batter's eye in centerfeild to put the Owls ahead 7-4.

FAU will continue their four-game home stand on Friday night when they welcome #20 Western Kentucky to Boca Raton for the first game of a three-game series. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at the FAU Baseball Stadium.
