Softball Heads to Texas

BOCA RATON, FL - The Florida Atlantic softball team will travel to North Texas this weekend to take on the Mean Green.

The Owls (16-16, 1-2 Sun Belt) ended their nonconference schedule over the weekend at the USF-The Game Invitational in Clearwater, defeating Syracuse and Long Island and losing to Ohio State and Illinois. Senior pitcher Kathryn Stauffer pitched a nine-inning 1-0 win over Long Island and is fifth in the nation with a 0.74 ERA.

North Texas (10-9, 2-1) won last year's series 2-1 in Boca Raton, FL, as FAU won the last game in extra innings to avoid the sweep. The Mean Green took two of three games from ULM earlier this season and their second series against South Alabama.

The series begins with a doubleheader Saturday, starting at 3 p.m. eastern with a single game Sunday at 1 p.m. Live stats of all three games will be available at fausports.com.
