BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University's football team added scout team work into the daily practice schedule and broke after nearly three-hours of work for the 2009 Bonfire hosted by FAU Student Government.
"We would have liked to be perfect today," said Howard Schnellenberger, FAU's head coach. "That is obviously not the case so we will continue to work."
Practice began with individual work and then moved into 7-on-7 where Jeff Van Camp connected with Darian Williams for the first long play of the day. Chris Bonner added another.
The Owls then broke for team work which was a short session giving way to a mini scrimmage among the three's and four's.
The team will return to the field at 3:30 p.m. Friday. All practices are free and open to the public.
Notes:
Boca Raton area "Watch Parties" for the first two games (Nebraska and South Carolina) has been set for the Deerfield Duffy's.
