Smolka, Dansky Participate In Maccabiah Games

BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University head track and cross country coach Alex Smolka and cross country runner Eric Dansky recently returned from the 18th Maccabiah Games in Israel.

Dansky finished 5th in the men's 10,000 meters and 6th in the 5,000 meters. He was also the top American and was 4th overall with a mile and a half to go in the half-marathon when an injury forced him to withdraw.

Smolka helped coach the United States track team to 24 medals at the event, including five gold medals. A photogallery from the event can be found by clicking here.
