BOCA RATON, FL - Two homegrown student-athletes from Florida Atlantic University's baseball team were selected today in the 2009 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft. Hard-throwing left-handed pitcher Alex Pepe from Deerfield Beach, and Boca Raton native Travis Ozga both heard their names called on Day Two of this year's draft. Pepe had been chosen in the 44th round of the 2008 MLB Draft by the Texas Rangers, but opted to return to FAU for his senior season.

Ozga switch-hit for power while also hitting for average, reeling off a 19-game hitting streak from March 1 through April 4.
