BOCA RATON, FL - Five Florida Atlantic University football players have been invited to participate in National Football League (NFL) mini-camps throughout the next two weeks.
Linebacker Frantz Joseph, FAU's all-time single season and career tackles leader, signed a free agent contract with the Oakland Raiders. Joseph will participate in the Raiders mini-camp in California from May 8-10.
Defensive end Michael Hancock, a two-year starter, will attend the Miami Dolphins mini-camp scheduled from May 1-3 in Davie. Hancock graduated from FAU in December 2008 with a dual bachelor's degree in management and marketing.
Defensive tackle Jervonte Jackson, a four-year starter who played in all but one game, is scheduled to attend the Philadelphia Eagles mini-camp May 1-3.
Cornerback Corey Small, a three-year starter for FAU who holds the program's single-game interception record and is second all-time in career interceptions, will attend the Washington Redskins mini-camp from May 1-3 following clearance from an ankle break that occurred in the Texas vs. the Nation All-Star Game in January. Small graduated from FAU in December 2008 with a bachelor's degree in English and has taken graduate courses.
Defensive lineman Robert St. Clair, a three-year starter and FAU career leader in sacks, was invited to the New York Giants camp from May 7-10. St. Clair also is coming off of an injury that he suffered in the early season of 2009. St. Clair graduated in December 2008 with a bachelor's degree in biology, as he aspires to attend medical school.
This special group joins a list of 11 previous FAU football players who have attended NFL mini-camps or have played professionally. Currently, former FAU defensive back and returner Casey McGahee is playing in Canada.
